Wildcard
UpdatedThere used to be a wildcard function in the search engine. Is there still one and, if so, what is it, please?

Our comprehensive Drug Search Form at the top of the site automatically executes a comprehensive wild card search. Basically any text you specify will locate all relevant pages by using a broad match. For example, searching for "Mylan" would automatically display all pages on the site which contain that word. The more text you enter for the search, the narrower the results will be, and vice-versa.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any more questions along these lines! Also, if you were trying to find something but were unable to, please post back with the search phrase and we can take a closer look.
Thanks!
The wildcard search would be
nic*ette with the asterisk used for the unknown letters (one answer would be nicorette) That used to work. The search engine no longer recognizes asterisk as a wildcard or unknown letter or letters in the middle of the word. Is there another symbol built into the new engine? Thanks for any help.
Hi Cathy,
For security reasons we had to discard all non alphanumeric characters. You can still accomplish the same kind of search, only instead of "nic*ette" you could simply search "nic ette". Basically you could use the space as the wildcard.
Hope this helps!
