Why Can T I Get My Norco Filled

I have sciatic pain and a torn disc it is painful. I'm having a nerve test done next. I am seeing an ortho. They perscribed norco and I had to go to 6 differrent pharmacies in long beach! My usual is cvs however they have been claiming they don't have it and as the others rite aid ,Walmart, a private pharmacy and others have said : we have no idea when they will have it. Ok I don't believe it. It seems it is an individualized situation wether it is available or not. So if your on the " bad patient" list or a risk in their eyes they all of a sudden don't have it! This is very counterproductive especially if I was an older patient or had no car. They will not disclose any info on phone either. Somehow this has to stop its getting insane! One pharmacy gave me a tip: the 24 hour pharmacies tend to carry it in stock?! Ok so if your feeling terrible took a day off due to that then I guess you have several hours to drive all over town to get help. Interesting. Messed up.

Actually, there was a shortage, manufacturers had reported having trouble obtaining the raw ingredients and, while it has been listed as being resolved, from what I can find, it will still take awhile for stock to be shipped to pharmacies.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

You may want to ask your doctor about prescribing an alternative medication.
