These are actually just considered a supplement, which means they aren't an actual medicine and most countries don't require a prescription for them.
As to why they aren't available here, I really don't know, I've not been able to find any information on that. However, it likely has to do with some FDA regulations.

in America there is a tremendous amount of stigma when using weight loss drugs. weight loss drugs are considered to be "like steroids", a form of cheating instead of a useful tool.
this stigma probably goes back to the 1970s when americans actually cared about their weight.
i believe that most people suffering from obesity are just not interested in making changes. even with appetite suppressants if someone wants to east a 5,000 caloric salad for snack with no exercise....
the problem with weight loss, as i experience it, is usually a lack of dopamine and adrenaline response from using muscles. more muscles more dopamine. more fat, more depression.

cathinone comes from the khat bush. i dunno if you can get the stems/leaves or even grow them ?
i would love to try and grow some; i usually get into trouble when I do this.

they have a new weight loss drug that is very addictive and works almost instantaneously. they say the drug will drop your weight without diet and exercise. good luck with that one :)
