Who Manufactures Ramipril?

My pharmacist changed my generic Ramipril manufacturer and told me it was Watson. He claimed it was the "best" and had a great reputation.

I found 2 other listings, never Watson. Is this just the same old line when it's really the pharmacy's bottom line?

I know that there are varieties which don't suit me. One generic version causes dry mouth, dry eyes and cough where the other make does not.

I been taking Ramipril 5mgs for 5yrs and in February this year developed a itchy painful rash on my lower limbs. It's now May and the GP discontinued my Ramipril two weeks ago and the rash has about gone, but I did notice that the packaging of my Ramipril had changed and the chemist was using another supplier. Could it have been caused by the change in manufacturer? I wonder?

Yes, pretty much. There's no way to say that any given manufacturer is better than any other, because it really comes down to how well it works for the individual taking it.

Watson does have a good reputation, but there may be something about their version of the product that doesn't agree with you, regardless of how well it's worked for anyone else.

Alternatively, you could find that it works better for you than the other ever did.

That said, I'm not finding one listed as being made by Watson either, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, since they may just be a repackager for someone else.

What are the markings on them?

There's really no telling who the manufacturer is unless you're able to provide a pill imprint and description to look up. Listed below are the Ramipril manufacturers I personally came across after looking at various pills, but it may not be all of them (I have yet to see Watson as well):
