Despite having half of a pill, this could still be a number of different things. Because we don't know if or what number(s)/logo exists on the other side that is not in your possession, it doesn't make identifying it any easier.
Did your friend say what type of pill he/she "thought" it was or what it might've been used for? I'm also curious to know if your friend already ingested the other half or if it was found as is in that condition? An answer to those questions may help generate better leads as we search through all the possibilities.
