White Oblong Pill Ip 204

I just filled my prescription and i recieved a white obling pill with ip204 on it but it did not feel as strong as strong as ones previous prescribed. Are generics weaker?

There can be some slight differences in the amount of the active ingredient in generic medications.

How long have you been taking this one?

If it's only been a few days, then you may just need to give your body time to adjust to the amounts that are in this tablet.

While pharmacies/pharmacists will tell you there is little to no difference between different generics and brand, (claiming they all contain the exact same/and amount if the active ingredients "oxycodone" ) but I can tell you first hand there are very large differences. Watson used to make the best generic but they were recently bought out by Activis (or something similarly named) The Activis brand is significantly weaker then Watson, and even moreso then brand name. I've been on 120 Percocet a month for pain management for the past 13 years and can feel the differences. The problem with brand name is most insurance companies won't cover it and at 1100 bucks for 120 pills (@Wallgreens) must people can't afford to pay for them out of pocket. After fighting with my insurance company for almost 3 months and getting my Dr to argue with them that this new brand Activis (the only brand Walgreen carries now) won't work for me, I finally got them to cover brand name Percocets. It's hard to find documentation of this, but if you look on the internet you can find that some Drs and Drug companies admit that brand name has an average of 2-3mg MORE of the active ingredient Oxycodone. They rarely admit this however because pharmacies and insurance co's are getting healthy kickbacks for promoting generics, so it's not in their best interest to admit brand name pain meds are stronger. Having been on them for years, and built up a pretty high tolerance, I can assure you that they are stronger and I can feel the difference. I can take two of generics with no problem, but can get the same relief with one brand name pill then I do with two of the weaker generics.

If you're on a pain mgmt regiment like I am, it's worth putting in the time to fight for brand name Percocets. And if you have a good Dr like I do, he won't have any problem fighting with the insurance co in your behalf to help you get brand name Percocet.
