my doctor switched me to Oxycod/apap 5-325 from Hydroco/apap 5-325. Which one makes you tired?

The Oxycodone is stronger, you only need 3.33mgs of it to be equivalent to each 5mgs of the Hydrocodone.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

As to which makes you more tired, I can't really answer that. Side effects are individualized, so it will really depend on you and how you react to any given medication.

So if I've been taking 15 mg of percocet I would need 25 mg of vicodin to get the same relief?

I was taking oxycodone 7.325 now taking oxycodone5.325 if I take 1 5.325 and a half of another will that be the same as 1 7.325?

Eating usually makes medication work differently, depending on the person.


Oxycodone(Oxycontin) is considered to be a stronger drug. The difference is how your brain works to help your body relieve the pain. In my personal experience, the side effects are horrible.

I would always recommend eating and taking any medication first: on a day off, at night. This way you can truly see how your body reacts.

For me, Oxytocin was quickly addictive. I was tired of how the Oxytocin made me feel and after a month, I tried to take myself off, tapering down. The withdrawals were terrible. My doctor did not want to take me off and I was on four 20mg pills/day. I finally told him that I couldn't take them anymore and I would take myself off and find another doctor. He finally changed me back to Hydrocodone.

Every person is different and I recommend getting a good pain management doctor to find the right medication for you.

To Lala, I'm here just to point out an accidental switch in terms. As in, perhaps you might want to look at your terms a bit more closely, and i am only pointing this out for any future readers who may be confused by your use of terms, but Oxycontin® is a brand name for a slow release oxycodone tablet.

Whereas, you started using the word Oxytocin, which is a type of a natural female hormone that helps a woman give birth, it helps to naturally induce and maintain contractions. Just to give an example of Oxytocin term usage, contrast this word with the synthetic hormone, Pitocin, which is substituted when a woman is having trouble with giving birth and the med team wishes to assist or induce labor - Pitocin is the synthetic version of Oxytocin.

So Oxytocin has nothing to do with Oxycodone.
