Which Is Stronger Between Tramadol 50 Mg And Tramadol/apap
UpdatedI've been taking the Tramadol/APAP 325 with Acetaminophen for many years as I have Fibromyalgia. My doctor just changed it to Tramadol 50mg. Is that stronger? I'm feeling a bit dizzy or lightheaded now.

Hello, Carolyn! How are you?
Yes, the 50mg tablet is stronger, since the combination medication is only available with 37.5mgs of Tramadol and 325mgs of Acetaminophen.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
Thank you so much for the info. I was on the combo Tramadol for over 10 years. I'm blessed to not have addictive tendencies so this change is actually better since my pain levels have greatly increased. My muscles are testing me due to a great possibility of having MS.
Thanks again for the information!
HI,
I wanted to give an update since I have been taking the increase of the Tramadol 50mg for a couple weeks now. At first it made me quite sleepy which was good since I have sleep issues with having Fibromyalgia. That only lasted a few days. Since I've been taking it, I actually do not feel any difference, help or relief of my pain level increase, which is the reason for the increase of the medication in the first place. I'm on several pain medications for the Fibro and MS. I seriously considering switching over to cannabis.
My doctor just stopped prescribing my Tramadol Apap I think because of the controversy about opioid addictions. I have been taking Tramadol for over 10 years and I would periodically suspend taking the pills when my pain was not that bad. I am not addicted to the Tramadol and am very upset that such a wonderful pain reliever is now denied to me.
Anyone else out there in this situation? Why is always that the abuse of some deny the benefit for others?
Re: Linda N (# 4)
Yes! My doctor is wanting to take me off my hydrocodone/acet 10-325 for the same reason. I have been on them for about 3 years now and they make my pain tolerable so I can do things. He wants to switch me to Tramadol. Is it just as good as the Hydrocodone? I guess I am afraid that the Tramadol won't work as good or that it will make me sleep all the time. I am frustrated! Help?
Re: Glenda (# 5)
Tramadol helps with nerve damage pain and certain other types of painike my sever arthritis however it does nothing for my pain in my spine from ruptured discs. The percocet does the opposite and only helps my spine damage but does nothing for my severe nerve pain and arthritis in my arms legs hands and feet. But maybe its just me who has this problem. They work differently in my body.
