Which Dr In Scranton Pennsylvania Prescribes Percocet

Hi, my name is Joan and I have chronic pain. I also have fibromyalgia Hermiated discs in the lumbar and sacral regions as well as the thoracic region. I get injections into my knee because it’s bone on bone. My primary dr stopped my Percocet 10/325mgr, abruptly , after knowing been on for more than 5 yrs. i’ve only seen this primary doctor for two months. He was aggravated at me because I canceled a pain management doctors appointment, wasn’t in my network of insurance. So that would mean I would pay 100% insurance. My pain is already getting worse I’m not having the drug. Someone please help me. Thank you

Unfortunately, there is no listing of which doctor will prescribe any given medication. Due to DEA directives, many PCPs are reluctant to do so, since it is a controlled substance and they must account for each prescription that they write. If they DEA doesn't feel that the reasons for writing it were valid, they risk losing their license to practice medicine, having to pay huge fines, and possible jail time.

The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Did you try getting an appointment with someone in your network? You don't have to necessarily see the doctor that your PCP refers you to, you can switch. Usually, they just need to see that you are trying to be cooperative.
