Where Can I Get Opana Er 20mg Filled

I have spent so much time trying to get my Opana 20mg er and 10 mg ir filled. I had to start sending my scripts to Optum Rx by mail to have them filled. Honestly I've never seen anything like it. I didn't even have this much trouble getting Oxycotin and Oxycodone filled. My insurance co didn't want to pay for my oxycodone anymore so they suggested I change to Opana. The first couple of months it was ok but then I don't know what happened but when I said I couldn't get them filled anywhere I meant it. I went 3 weeks without medication before I received my first order back through the mail order company. I'm trying to change to another medication that I can get locally that my insurance will cover. My question is which medication works better, Opana or Oxycontin and Oxycodone? Now that I'm on schedule I don't run out but still it's an aggravation having to mail my scripts in and wait on them. Why would a doctor write a script for a patient that they couldn't even fill. It's torture for those of us who are in severe pain.

I had the same problem when my pain doctor took me off of methadone and changed me over to MSContin, I went to so many pharmacies and none had this med, I went almost two weeks with out anything for pain, I had to call my doctors office and they called pharmacies in my area and found one that had it in stock, it took everything I had in me to drive mystery there to get it filled. Lately I haven't had a problem getting it at the same pharmacy.
I'm sorry about the problem that you're having getting your prescriptions filled.
However, your doctor has no way of knowing what any given pharmacy has in stock, they just prescribe according to what they know works best.
The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
Oxycontin and Oxycodone are the same thing, Oxycontin is just the time released formulation. As to which works better, there's really no definitive answer that can be given, because it depends on your body and how it reacts to any given medication.
Is the Opana working well for you?
