I started taking my loestrin pills on Nov 6th of this year, 2016, a week before my period, because i wanted to make sure it took effect three weeks before I got married, Nov 27th. However I took my first pill on a Monday, though it said to start on Sunday. Am I okay? Did I mess up? Will the pills not work correctly if my peroid hasnt happened yet?

As long as you take 7 days of the active pills, before engaging in unprotected intercourse, you should be fine. That means that you would need to use backup protection, until the 8th day, according to the NIH. But, the specific day of the week you start doesn't matter.
The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms.
