Hi it's my first time taking spirtec my period is not due until Monday can I start them a day before my period starts will that make it skip my period

No, it won't likely make you skip it, since it isn't in your system, yet. But you can start them any day, however, when not on your period, it does take a week for it to reach its full level of efficacy in your body to prevent pregnancy.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and spotting.
