Hello, Christina! How is your granddaughter doing?
At her age, it's very important to take her to her pediatrician for a proper diagnosis and treatment. It's just far to risky to try to diagnose such a young child on your own and then treat it properly. There are chances she could get her hands in that cream and then put them in her mouth, which may be dangerous.
The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, redness and dryness.
