What Type Of Medicine Is Diacereina

diacereina 25 mg is the drug I am researching .What type of drug is it? Is it over the counter? Is it a vitamine?

This medication is unavailable in the U.S. and I am sorry to say that other countries do not regulate their prescription drugs as strictly as the FDA does. That said, finding information on them is very difficult, since there are no databases which list them all, like there are for U.S. prescription drugs.

Based on my limited findings, Diacereina is also known as Diacerein; (a name which may help provide more search options for your research). Meloxicam also appears to be related to this medication; quite possibly the U.S. brand name for it, but I haven't found info to prove this.

Diacerein is a drug used in the treatment of osteoarthritis. It works by inhibiting interleukin-1. The most common side effects of diacerein treatment are gastrointestinal, such as diarrhea.
