Hello, BK! How are you?
To get the brand name, you need your doctor to write the prescription as 'brand medically necessary' or whatever the equivalent is in your state, sometimes the phrasing varies, but your doctor will know what you're talking about.
There are other generics available, though. There is one manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, one from Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals, one from Glenmark, one from Apotex and several others.
Verapamil is a calcium channel blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.
Is there anything else I can help with?
I was trying to get the Ivax verapamil brand but my drug supplier says ivax no longer makes it. I have been taking that brand for 20 years and I was trying to find out if it is true Ivan stooped making it. Do you know if this is true?
I'm sorry, but I can't find any information on this. They are listed as a manufacturer, but they actually don't have to report when they discontinue making a medication, unless there are no others available.
Thus, if your supplier said that, then it is most likely correct and they can no longer get it for you.
Have you tried any of the others that are available?
