I had a hair follicle test done and it came back positive for amphetamines, and methamphetamine. I was wanting to know if any of the medicines I have been taken can cause a false positive. I have taken adderall, Advil, ibuprofen 800 mg, excedrin migraine, Zantac, night quil, Tylenol, aspirin, Xanax, midol, robaxin, and Abilify. Any information you can give me will be helpful. Thank you for your time.

Get a copy of the script where you got the diet pills. As long as they were legal, Court can't hold it against you. I went through the same thing. Now i'm in a jam with my doctor i've had for 14 years. I ordered energy pills online and it showed methamphetamine so she discharged me.

I took methamphetamine 1-time 130 days ago (about 1/5 gm), then 1-time about 100 days ago (about gm), then 1-time about 65 days ago (about 3/4 gm). Will I pass a hair follicle test 75 days clean?

Phentermine will give a positive result every time...a friend of mine just went through this same instance and is in process of getting her children reinstated to her custody

The DFS had me do a hair follicle test and it came back as positive for methamphetamine. I have never used methamphetamine. I take a prescription for prostrate and for sinuses and some others. DFS has taken my granddaughter from our home. My question is what prescriptions will give a false positive reading? I need help fast. She is scared. Please help me. POPA

I tested positive for methamphetamine on a hair follicle test the lab that cps sent me to states only meth will show as meth but I am not a user!! Adderall is an amphetamine, it will show up as such in a test, it does in my urine testing so I know that for sure. I don't honestly know why your test would come up specifically as having methamphetamine as well, I know hair tests are usually more specific and accurate but I'm not knowledgeable enough to tell you if adderall will show up as both for some reason, maybe due to the synthetic nature or the way the body will metabolize it? I'm unsure. I would call the maker of the brand of adderall you take as well as the drug testing company you used for more info on that. Also, have you ever taken a methamphetamine? I have heard hair tests can get results back from something done years ago depending on the test/substance, etc. but I haven't personally researched that so I don't want to attest to the accuracy of that statement lol. Just an idea that came to mind that may or may not help explain your result :) Good luck figuring it out! Oh my goodness...I'm a dunce. I just looked at the date of your post and it's been such a long time you probably already got it worked out, but I'll still post in case others are looking for the same answer or in case you get notified of responses and will come back to let me know what caused it because now I'm curious lol.

It doesnot mean u did anything or took anything. The test is false if u know u did not use.

Mygrandson tested pos in two hair tests for morphine and morphine and oxycontin. That was impossiblr. I had samples retested both were CLEAN

Cps dismisssed the case but damage was done
