What Is Sucralfate

I'm currently prescribed 4 sucralfates per day, and 2 omeprazole. The instructions for sucralfate state do not take any other medications within 2 hours of taking this. This makes the windows for taking this extremely small. Is it okay to take both sucralfate and omeprazole together if I ever fall behind?

No, it is best to follow the instructions provided with the medication and not take it with anything else. The Omeprazole may affect the absorption of the Sucralfate.

Sucralfate is used for the short-term treatment of certain intestinal ulcers. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness and constipation.

Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that's used to reduce the amount of acid produced by the stomach. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness and stomach pain.
