The highest available dose of Percocet, according to the FDA website, contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so there is no 20mg dosage available in the U.S.
Were you referring to just Oxycontin tablets? They are available in a 20mg dosage, but do not include the Acetaminophen and they're in a time released formulation.
It is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth and constipation.
As to how much is taken, that may differ from person to person, depending on what dose best controls their pain and what dosage their doctor thinks is safest for them to take.
