In regards to the original post, no an antibiotic will not treat pain, it is not an analgesic.

An antibiotic, such as Nitrofurantoin, only treats bacterial infections and this one is most commonly used to treat UTIs.

Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
