What Is Meloxicam 15 Mg Used For Please Help
UpdatedI have been taking Mobic 15MG for 10 days and I can't tell its helping me at all with my inflammation in my back and neck, plus I have a pinched nerve. How long does it take to start working on this? Also I have been taking a prescribed dosage of Potassium Chloride 10MEQ (what it says on the prescription bottle) but been on the Potassium for a few years. Is this a bad combo? Could this be why I'm hurting worse in the shoulders and neck/back of head? Wondering since Mobic increases sodium levels if I should stop taking my Potassium? Please help.. Thanks

Hello, Tony! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having.
When is the last time you had a blood test done to check your potassium levels?
Those symptoms could be caused by your potassium level being too low or too high, which would also explain why the Meloxicam may not be helping.
Thank you for the message; this is Tony.. I just had my blood work up last month as I do every 6 months. My levels were fine as long as I take my Potassium 10MEG prescription pill each day. One of my blood pressure meds makes me go the lil boys room too much so its why I was running low starting a couple of years ago so the Doc put me on the Potassium 10MEG once a day pill.
On the other hand I took myself off the Mobic 15mg three days ago and fill a little better. I read where Mobic/Meloxicam can increase potassium levels and I thought those two in the same day might of been the problem but as the afternoon goes each day even since I quit taking the Meloxicam I start hurting in the afternoon in my upper back and left side of my neck and it works up into the back of my head at night. I know I have a pinched nerve and that might be the cause of it all.
I joined the Obama Care and made an appointment with a neurosurgeon and they wouldn't see me until my doctor recommends me to them and then it has to be approved by Blue Cross/ Blue Shield. I tell you all the loop holes even when a person is in severe pain.
Got me but thanks, I will ask my DOC again next week but just had my blood/lab work done end of March this year.
Thanks! Tony
Hello my name is Jim and I have 3 MRI's done on my left shoulder/kneck and brain in the last 2 monthes I have damage in shoulder and kneck servical spine/ vertabrays 4 5 6 and 7. I lost all the vision in left eye and was diagnosed with optic neritis. Im waiting on results on brain MRI results. Dr put me on a steroid treatment and I have regained a good percentage of my vision back. he has put me on Mobic 15mg for inflammation. I still have (ALOT) of pain and feel the swelling in my whole upper body. Is there something more I can be taking to reduce the inflammation?
Jim.....and anyone else questioning Meloxicam (Mobic). This is a ONCE a day med only and cannot add other antiinflammatories to it because it increases the chances for bleeding. Google Meloxicam and read the adverse reactions and medication reactions between it and others. If the Mobic isn't working you must talk to your doc and he can change you to something else. If you don't tell him, he has no way of knowing it is not working. None of the so-called antiinflammatories work for me....I am better off taking Ibuprofen, over the counter, 4 tabs (800mg) 3-4 times a day. Good luck.....I don't know many people who have been helped by mobic.
who is the manufacturer for Meloxicam Cipla 159- and why does it smell like other meds I've taken that don't work like Ambien & other anti depressants . I need relief from pain that has taken away so much good energy. I realize everyone's chemical makeup is unique. Also my pills are white, what's the difference between the yellow one compared to the White
My Dr gave me meloxicam for a tumor in my spine and Norton hospital prescribed me methylprednisolone 4mg, along with 15mg meloxicam for a swollen inflamed knee. Is that too much inflammation medicine I'm taking?
Re: Geraldine (# 7)
each of those medications works to get rid of the swelling in a different way. The methylprednisolone is a steroid, follow the doses on the instructions and finish the dose pack.
The Meloxicam is a med u can take daily, ongoing, for the pain caused by your knee swelling. (With food on your tummy so it won't cause stomach problems).
