I am 48 yrs old and have taken regestrone 5mg for atleast 3 years. (was getting heavy clotting). Dr. told me to stop regestrone. After about three months all of a sudden I cant sleep at all. I hear that Regestrone contains progestrone which has the ability to make you sleep. Can that be related?
Or am I going through menopause? What should I do about my sleep disorder

It's hard to say what's causing your insomnia, but after several months, it isn't likely due to the Regestrone. Withdrawal effects, as reported by the FDA, usually only last a month or so, at most. They may also include headache, insomnia and breakthrough bleeding.
It could be menopause, insomnia can be a typical symptom of it, but there are also many other things that could cause it.
Are you on any other medications?
