This is coming from an ex oxy junkie. If you're hooked, enjoy it cuz you're not stopping. This drug will ruin your life but I know you don't care, I didn't. Get help. Methadone is cheaper than dope and it didn't hurt me. I never got dope sick once in methadone treatment. For those of you that are just going to talk s*** about my post, I wish you the best and hope you get clean.. But if you don't want to then live life to the fullest because you may not have many years left.
since so many people were abusing the original oxycontin with oc on one side, and 80 on the other, the manufuacturers have changed the total formula in which it is still the same formula as the original oc 80's, but have now made it extremely difficult for anyone to "abuse" this medicine now, so they changed it to op 80. which is a time released dose of 80mgs over a 12hr. period. the standard way it's supposed to be prescribed is 1tab. every 12hrs. but sometimes, there are ppl. that require a 3rd pill, at 1pill every 8hrs. that is the max that you should be taking in a day. if you are taking more than that, you have an extrememely high tolerance level, and soon, there will be nothing that you can take to help with your pain. I STRONGLY ADVISE, that you taper down to at least 3 a day!!! there is only one other drug out there stronger than that, and that should only be reserved for cancer patients. please heed my advice and taper down so that you can still contol most of the pain, without possibly overdosing one day!!! i've lost 2 cousins that way. which is why i'm soo familiar with these drugs. i've done my research on this kind of med. for a long time. and over time...unfortunately, people that are on narcotics for more than a couple of years, yes...it will start to rot your teeth, to where you will need a set of false teeth. it's the downside of narcotics. you should be taking narcotics only to aleviate the pain enough to "function" because, no amount of medicine can ever take the pain completely away. unless you overdose...then of course, your dead. if i scared you, i'm sorry, but....good!! you needed to hear it. i hope you heed my knowledge in this, and at least try to taper down. it's for your own well being, and possibly, your life. good luck!!!
I could spend all day correcting people on ignorant comments about opiates. THEY DO NOT ROT YOUR TEETH. End of. They can possibly make your mouth dry. As saliva is your mouths defence against decay then this could lead to problems slightly faster then usual. However, if you do find that you suffer with a dry mouth (and not everyone will) then chew gum, drink plenty, clean your teeth, use mouth wash and visit the dentist regularly. You know - just use common sense . . . Make sure your dose isn't too high. Always use the minimal but effective dose. There is absolutely no reason that you should lose your teeth. Don't listen to scare tactics and nonsense.
I chew the OP 40s till there broken down as much as possible in hopes of having it hit me all at once instead of lil by lil.. So my question is am I really taking away the time release because it's been 4 hours and I wanna take more but don't kno if I should yet
I am not certain exactly what it stands for, however, it has replaced the original Oxycontin with the OC marking.
Oxycontin OP cannot be crush, chewed or broken down. If someone tries, it basically turns into a gummy goo, that is supposed to only dissolve in stomach acid and retain its time released properties.
Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth.

Is there anything else I can help you with?
Purdue has my address on record from my various complaints to them about Oxycontin OP.
I received a letter addressed to a person of my same last name, but a different first name that was obviously sent incorrectly. The letter referenced his questions about his prescription to "The new Oxycontin RF, 30 mg Tablets".
I have not found information, and my Doctor suggests that Purdue is secretly working on a new Formulation to our drug.
Purdue wont answer my calls on this. Let's all give a push to see what the heck is going on!
the op means you cant crush it. you now have to {edited for safety reasons}.
to the guy pushing methadone, id suggest suboxone. iv had my subs for two years and my dose hasnt went up once. has yours?
I got off of the pain medicine but it was hard. I don't suggest taking methadone or subs. The subs gave me the worse withdrawal. It was a lot more brutal than the oxycodone or hydrocodone. It lasted for almost 2 weeks and I only did them for 3 months. It's just another crutch. Methadone has a nasty withdrawal as well plus you get super constipation. My suggestion is to drink a lot of water, get some kratom for the first week, cannabis, and some ativan or xanax. After the first week is over discontinue the kratom and knock your benzo down to one at night before bed. After that it's all about will power.
Has anyone out there heard of a brand new formulation called Oxycontin RF
I got a letter from Purdue( I have been bugging them forever- so they have my address in records.)
The letter was addressed to a person of the same last name as me, but different first name, and it got sent to my address.
The letter references his questions about:
"The new OxyContin RF, 30 mg Tablets"
I am providing this letter to my Pharmacist, case managers, and am being told that yes Purdue is likely secretly experimenting with reformulation.
I have not been able to get in touch with Purdue yet.
So be advised people. Something is going on out there that we are not being told about!
what steps are you using to dissolve the moisture reactive component?
Sherry, Oxycontin and Morphine are two completely different medications, although they are both considered opiates / narcotics.
I actually missed my dose this morning lol I've been clean for2 years going to the methadone clinic is the best thing I ever did with my life!
Fentanyl is much stronger so if oxy won't work you'll be just fine fentanyl is way better anyways plugs u can cut one patch up into several pieces to chew up throughout the day never chew the whole 8.25mg patch at once as it will be to much and I will probably die
Oxy Plastic maybe?
It stands for opiate
