What Does A Losartan Pill Look Like
(Newest replies first)

I was getting from my pharmacist Losartan 25mg as a small round white pill with imprint HH 111. Recently, the pharmacist is giving it to me in a larger round white pill that's scored and has an imprint of 11. I'm a bit concerned that they're not the same.

Thanks to you I was able go track down the losartan through Walgreen's and was able to fill my prescription. Thank you so much!
I don't know where you live but Walgreens in Phoenix has a big supply. Another note has anybody tried beat juice for lowering blood pressure?
Hello. I have been taking Virtus losartan and my pharmacist said its not currently available from the manufacturer. I'm about to run out if my prescription and am very concerned to take another manufacturers losartan. Does anyone know where I can get virtus losartan 25 mg?
thanks for any help !
Thanks David, this morning i started back with the Pack manufactured losartin and BAM... I am back to normal and symptoms I had been experiencing (exploding head sensation, racing heart palps and some aching muscles) are now gone! Thanks for you info...
Hi Ricco,
Thanks for the positive feedback! I'm glad I could be of help. I sure hope you're getting around to feeling better since you last posted.
I was able to locate the list of inactive ingredients (for the Pack/Rising Pharmaceutical version) through NIH at: dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/drugInfo.cfm?setid=3d6a61cd-77c4-4f52-b826-c030df979270 [scroll down to the section titled INGREDIENTS AND APPEARANCE]
Apparently, "Rising Pharmaceuticals also acquired Pack Pharmaceuticals" - So the information in my previous reply pertaining to Rising's inactive ingredients should also be one in the same as Pack Pharma. That's my theory anyway.

David one more thing... Can you point me to where you were able to get the list of inactive ingredients or let me know what they are for the Losartin produced by Pack Pharma?
Thank you again!
David, thank you, that's a great summary and very similar to what my pharmacist stated. He swapped out the Veritus pills for the prior pills I was taking. Will see if I am back to normal in about 48 hours.
With different manufacturers there's likely to be a different set of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) as well...
The company who makes this larger white round Losartan pill with "11" is reported to be Virtus Pharmaceuticals with a National Drug Code of 69543-140. Here is the list of inactive ingredients their product contains:
croscarmellose sodium
hypromelloses
magnesium stearate
mannitol
microcrystalline cellulose
povidones
propylene glycol
talc
titanium dioxide
And just for comparison, here is the list of inactive ingredients found in the "HH 111" version made by Rising Pharmaceuticals (with a National Drug Code of 16571-500):
microcrystalline cellulose
lactose monohydrate
corn starch
magnesium stearate
hydroxypropyl cellulose (type H)
hypromelloses
titanium dioxide
NOTE: Drug companies do not list how much of each inactive ingredient they use, so it may be difficult to determine the culprit based on its presence vs whatever quantity they use, seeing as some ingredients are similar and certain people may be more sensitive than others to varying amounts of the same substances.
I hope this helps and wish you all the best of luck in finding something that works.
@Sharon, i understand. I'm I having headaches and my BP was uncontrolled a couple of days ago..i need to find out diff between this one and prior pill ... The only diff i know is it is a diffetent manufacturer.
I'm a little afraid to take the new pill so I'm staying off it until I find out if it's ok!
Sharon, I dont know what, if any, the diff is. The question is do you feel the same on this new pill as did the old one and is there any difference in your BP readings? thx
I recently received the same for my Losartan and it came from Walgreens as well. Is it the same?
Same thing happened to me last week. Got mine from Walgreens...Do you feel the same on the new pill?
