Hi good evening .I am confused of what day should i start taking althea pills. I am having a menstration right now august 11 . I ended taking it last august 5 .august 12 is the expected date for me to take it .i dont know if i need to start it right now or should i wait tomorrow to take it? And what if i start taking it now and i completed to take the remaining tablets what should i do to the 5 missed pills? Should i take it again just to complete 21 days or should i start a new one? I am new about this issue i hope you will respond immediately to my problem .thank you .

If started on the first or second day of your period, according to NIH reports, this medication will be immediately effective at preventing pregnancy. If start on the third day, or later, you will need to take it for a full 7 days, before it will prevent pregnancy. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, PMS-like symptoms, and irritability.

As this point, there should be no missed pills, you should start with the first one in the pack and continue from there, unless your doctor instructs otherwise.

What did you decided to do?
