What Causes Dilaudid To Not Show Up On A Urine Test?

I have been taking Excalgo, 12 mg, every morning. Also, dilaudid 4 mg, 3 times a day for break through pain. Most of my doctors appt. are in the morning. I take the Excalgo about 1hour or so before my appt. For the past 2 months, my doctor is telling me that it is not in my urine test. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? My appt. last week, he completely had taken my pain meds away, leaving me to deal with severe pain and withdrawal from the meds. I have been on pain meds, for over 20 years, my dose goes up, goes down, or meds get changed. I have scoliosis, and was fused when I was younger. Over the years, and after giving childbirth, it progressively gotten worse. I had to leave my job as a secretary/stenographer for 18 years, because I could not sit for any period of time. I was seen by a surgeon in 2005 who told me I had developed adult scoliosis and would require surgery. The surgery would be invasive, requiring implants of titanium rods from my neck down to my buttocks. Bolts of about 3 inches long with nuts on each end would be set every so many inches down the spine, and placed on the left and right sides of the lower spine into my hips. This was to stabilize the rods. First they had to fix some disc in my spine. I had vascular doctors go through my stomachs and placed my internal organs to the side to get to the disc. Then I had a bone graft from my left hip. I was then flipped over to work on my spine. A week later I began to come out of all the meds. Pain was excruciating. Well after post-op I returned to my pain doctor, who immediately changed my doses. Each year thereafter till 2013, I had to have repeated surgeries to have the bolts removed, then replaced, and had to have the rods shorten. So, yes I have been on may different meds, over the years. However, I have been under this pain doctor years before the surgery, to the present. To make me go through no pain meds, withdrawal for 2 weeks, is inconceivable. Worst of all its intolerable. My pain has been a 10 for days now. I requested blood test be done at my visit, but the doctor said it was not necessary. I'm sure if I gave his name here, most people would know him. Sorry for such a long comment, but I needed to tell my story.

Lulabell, did you ever figure out what caused the negative test. I've had the same thing happened to me this morning. Dr is saying there is nothing in my urine although I know that's impossible. So I'm left trying to prove I took my pills and few days ago.
