Since they are the same substance, just different forms, switching from one to the other isn't likely to help.
Have you consulted your doctor? You may need to try something else. How much are you trying to gain and why?
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including dizziness, drowsiness and increased appetite.
