I'm 15. I had tonsillitis at easter & went to an emergency doctor & he gave me antibiotics for a week & paracetamol & my tonsillitis cleared up. 2 weeks later I woke up with a head ache,dizziness, sore bones, & a sore throat. 2 days later I went to the doctor as I got worse. She prescribed me calvepen 666mg for my tonsillitis. I finished my course of antibiotics 2 days ago & my throat didn't get 1 bit better .. I am returning to the doctor tomorrow. Is there a medicine I could suggest to her as I am afraid she will piut me on the calvepen again?

In Ireland the combination of phenoxymethylpen and flucloxacillin is standard regimen to cover infection from staph. aureus. Phenoxymethyl is used here to treat respiratory infections and often tonsillitis/strep throat but never to treat urinary tract infections. The doses you are prescribed are the standard treatment doses. Hope that helps.

It's the infection that causes the pain in your head. I've had same tablets and over the counter pain relief, which the pain relief never worked properly and had pain in the head for three days. Antibiotics take a few days to work.

At the moment I have had a bad viral infection in my throat. I aam currently on the fifth day getting better slowly. I went to my GP on the 3rd day because i didn't think i needed anti-biotics but does Calvepen 333 mg dosage increase the amount of mucus coughed up. So far I have noticed it makes me nauseous but i have been told the mucus is an over excessive amount and I am a little worried
