Wellbuterin

i am currently on prozac for the last 20 years. I want to ask my doctor to add wellbuterin. I feel that the prozac does not work as well but when I try to reduce and get off it is totally miserable. I have completely lost my desire for sex and have read that if you add wellbuterin it helps... Please advise...

Prozac is nothing compared to Wellbutrin (I take generic--Bupropion 300mgs) Since starting Wellbutrin, WOW energy, not so moody,Yeah, I'll say it,SEX drive increased Intensely!! I've been seeing a Psychiatric since a botched surgery in 1995 & have been on&off wellbutrin several times but I always go back to it. I've tried several&I mean several diff antidepressants,none compare to wellbutrin.Just the increase in desire to get out of bed in the morning&actually have some energy is worth it.Def NOT intense energy all day long but it just gives me that extra UMPH in the morning to get moving.3or4 months ago my insurance(med partD plan) decided they weren't going to cover the wellbutrin anymore so my psychiatrist decided to wean me off wellbutrin and try something diff &I think it was PROZAC.Nope, I'd rather pay for it in full than change to another anti-dep again.I have a fantastic Psych&he wrote a detailed,long letter to my insurance company and they made an exception and are now paying for it-it falls into my highest co-pay amt,but it's okay.Anyways,I say request it &with any luck you will have the same,if not better, results that I've had with it!!
