Wean Off Of Belviq

If belviq needs to be stopped, can you just stop or do you have to wean off of it? Also, how close is belviq to zoloft? I was once on zoloft and it didn't decrease my appetite.

Belviq is not related to Zoloft, it contains the active ingredient Lorcaserin, which the FDA lists as a weight-loss drug, though it does have some serotonergic properties.

Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, coughing, back pain and headache.

I am not aware of it needing to be tapered, but your doctor would be the best judge of that.
