HI, Flash! Sorry that you're so miserable, I do understand.
There are actually two issues at play here….
The first is that Watson had some issues with customers being sensitive/allergic to the dyes in their products, so they have been changing them to remove the dyes and, while they claim that is the only change that's been made, many people are complaining that they are no longer effective at treating pain.
The second issue is that due to concerns over overdose toxicity and the possibility of liver damage from long term use of high amounts, the FDA has requested that all manufacturers lower the amount of Acetaminophen in these combination medications to no more than 325mgs per dose. Some companies have already begun to make the changes and are pulling the existing ones off the market, while the rest are expected to have it completely by January of 2014.

Therefore, right now, this is really just a very hard medication to get in your usual dosage and the companies that are still making them are also making other changes that seem to be causing problems.
Have you contacted your doctor? It may be time to see about trying a different medication.
the green watson 503 actually helped my severe pain very well. now i have the white watson 503 and i cant even tell i took something for my pain.theyre not even helping. im so misrable. this is a shame. something that actually helps and they go and mess it up. some people need Effective medicine.this white 503 sure isnt. for the people who are sensitve to the die give them the white pill. people who are not give them green.
Come on people! There is more to this 'dye' story then they are telling us! If people would stop and think about how lame this sensitive/allergic dye excuse is, they would come to realize this excuse doesn't even add up! For starters, think about all the dyes that are added into our food...eh? If adding FOOD COLORING to medications is such a risk, why didn't they remove the dye years ago?
Could it be that the reason behind Watson removing the dye from its products, as well as changing its pain relief effect, is that they were somehow pressured into doing just that? I've heard, that the actual reason for Watson changing their pain medication, is due to its demand on the street! That customers of drug dealers are well aware of the exact details of how this medication looks, as well as its effects!
So perhaps the DEA is behind all this mess and forcing Watson to remove its signature dye as well as altering its effectiveness into some worthless Mallinckrodt type drug, just to solve this street demand problem?
