Yeah Its A little stronger, there both opiots and very addictive, If you have the choice stay way from both of them, trust me I have heard really bad stories of both of them
In order to stop the trick is to ween urself slowly!! I had been on Oxcontin 40 mg 4xdaily!! Plus 8- 5mg of fast actin oxcy's! I thought i was going to die when i was tryin to stop but now that i'm off of them I feel so much better!! I was on a emotional roller coaster to hell!!!And if i hadn't get off of those I might really be dead now!! I now know that bein on those made my pain worse! Just because i always over did it because I couldn't feel what harm i was doin to my back!! So yeah just a suggestion long time use of these r worse for u!!!! I know when ya hear this u will say no she's wrong (i know that because that's what i said when someone told me that!!!) but really please be aware of what harm ur doing to ur body with long time use of Pain med's!! These r a bad thing to get into!!!!
if u can stay away from all longterm use of narcotic pain pills i would strongly suggest it. ive been taking them for 8 years and ive wanted to stop but i have become extremely addicted to them over the years and am not able to quit taking them. my gf has tried to get me to stop but i almost feel like it is impossible.just some good advice from someone who knows about to anyone thinking about taking them.
I have been takin percocet for the past 3 yrs for a gunshot wound and I must say you grow dependent to this drug ,yea it takes the pain away but you get hooked I wouldn't recommend them to anyone if anything take norcos.Thank you.
Ok all is well in what you are all saying about the terrible addiction it can cause when you take it, but what if you have cancer and pain is next to unbearable are you to worry about getting strung out or getting the heck out of pain, So lots of negatives about the drug but how about a positive aspect it helps the user live a life that is a bit more bearable.
I've been on percocet 10/325mg a little over 3 yrs. I had a 3 herniated disc 3,4,5 and degenerate L3, after a bad accident at work. I could barley walk after a month from date of injury. After 3 back surgerys the last surgery I had a fack L3 put in. 3 rods with metal bracket, plus a partial fushion. I was taking 3 a day for 2 yrs then down to 2 a day. I'm now on 1 a day I take half when I get up. The pain its really strong when I first get up. First thing I do is take my meds. I'm having alote of pain due to my job. I'm ready to change my meds to loritab 500mg twice a day. But I'm scared of withdrawl but more so the pain. The percs take away the pain but due to my type of work the med dosent last long so I'm suffering when I don't if. I medicate myself or suffer that's my options. Its amazing how that if your still reding this u know how I feel. And changing jobs is NOT an option. Thanks. God is good all the time.
After taking vicodin (10/350) for last 3+ years for severe stenosis, I've read everything I can find on the pros & cons. Like most of you, I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't. There is a distinct difference between addiction and dependance. I've tried to wean off as much as possible, only taking a pill when it hurts to much to hold my head up but by then meds don't work as well and my body starts the withdrawl symptoms from hell. Some days I take as much as 100 mgs throughout the day, others 40 mg will suffice. Am seeing a neuro surgeon this week to see what surgical option is best as I've done all the non-surgical remedies; physical therapy, injections, epidurals, accupuncture, tens unit, decompression... you name it. Only getting worse now and taking lots of drugs to get thru work/life every day. Now if only I can find a way to pay for a permanent fix of sorts. This is how people end up in a bad way, too many drugs to ease/kill the pain that mess up the rest of you physically & mentally but no $ for surgery ~ even with insurance. Coming up with $2,500 to cover the deductible.... guess I could try having a car wash every weekend for the next year! So what's a person to do?
you can get of them...it is hard but if you are determined it can and will be done..to long term users my suggestion is to slowly taper down from them until you're taking very little and every other day to eventually none. This is far easier than someone going cold turkey.
how slowly should u decrease your dose to get off of them all together
