Washington Doctors Wi Ing To Prescribe Oxycontin

Been seen and treated for over 15 years same doctor with oxycontin and methadon , he relocated and now wants me to go to pain management doctors. Would like to find other primary care doctors that prescribe pain narcotics in Seattle

Due to the new DEA recommendations that were issued last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist to continue receiving such medications, PCPs will no longer prescribe them, unless its for a patient with intractable pain from a possibly fatal condition, such as stage 4 cancer.

They could continue to prescribe them for patients they were already treating, in some cases, but most will not do so for new patients.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area?
