Walgreens Oxycodone Brand

Walgreens new Camber 5mg Percocet is not coated. Blue dye is bitter, upsets stomach and stains tongue. Pharmacist stated I wasn’t supposed to place pill on tongue. He stated ALL Tylenol is bitter. Told him I’d have to suck on a Tylenol to experience this taste. Does anyone know what blue dye is for? Also, this brand, from India, relieves pain, if at all, for maximum of 2 hours. What a rip-off! Who handles quality control in India? If they’ve setup shop here, it’s to import this crap legally. Husband has same problem w/Camber’s10mg Percocet, but atleast they r coated.

Hi Caren,

Lets answer your questions one at a time.

Blue dye is used to color the pill, think of food dyes. The reason that the pills are colored is because the FDA ensures that medication in the united states is identifiable through its imprint, color, shape, size and type. Some people are allergic to specific dyes, if the blue dye in your medication upsets your stomach I suggest you bring that up with your doctor.

There should be directions on how to administer the medication located on the pill bottle that you received. The only time you should be letting medication dissolve on your tongue is when the directions instruct you to do so.

Your question about quality control in India is a two pronged response. For medication that is manufactured in India for it's own citizens is regulated by their own legal standards, however, medicine that is manufactured in India that is to be sold in the United States has to be regulated by the FDA.

I hope this information helps.
