Voiding One Prescription For Your Regular
UpdatedMy husband has been seeing a neurologist for several months. He has had 3 surgeries on his back. His Dr has been prescribing Percocet. He recently had dental work and was given a script for Norco. The Norco script will be filled Friday. My question is this...he doesn't need the Norco, he has a prescription to be filled for his regular pain medication, can we ask them to void the Norco and fill the other instead?

Hello, Bobbie! How are you and your husband?
Yes, just tell the pharmacy that you don't want the Norco, you just want to pick up his regular Percocet prescription. The Norco prescription is most likely valid for a few months and they will usually just keep it on file, in case he ends up needing it later.
The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.
Is there anything else I can help with?
