hi i'm coming off 40mg of viibryd tapering down to 10mg. i'm on day 4 of the 10mg was told to take the 10mg for 3 more days then on day 8 take nothing then on day 9 start taking my new drug called cymbalta, 30mgs, for 7 days then up to 60 mgs once daily from now on. my question is as long as i wait the day in between the 2 meds, must i go a full 7 days on the 10mgs of viibryd? everyones ready to kill me here and i am ready to do the same so please advise me if its ok to come off the viibryd sooner...thanks

Hi joe,

The only person who can legally advise you to come off your medications is your doctor. But if it's anything to you, I would personally suggest sticking with it for the remainder of your tapering period. Reason being is that the main point of weening off is to avoid any further withdrawal symptoms than you might already have. So if you say that "you're ready to kill", then I'd hate to hear what going cold-turkey might be like.

Have you considered asking your doctor about other natural alternatives that may be used as an adjunctive therapy to viibryd, as a way of lessing the severity of symptoms during your transition?
