The designation would be 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, so the narcotic has been raised and the augmenting ingredient lowered.

There have been a lot of concerns raised about the problems that can occur due to the Acetaminophen. It is associated with both overdose toxicity and the possibility of liver damage, or failure that might occur from long-term use of high amounts. Thus, all of the dosages of Acetaminophen in these medications are being lowered to a maximum of 325mgs per dose.
Some manufacturers have already begun to implement the change and the rest are expected to have it completed by January of 2014, so your doctor is really just saving you from possible health dangers and the need to switch your dosage later.
But, by raising the narcotic, it's probably going to be pretty close to being equivalent in efficacy to the ones you were already taking. If not, then please contact your doctor for assistance.
Is there anything else I can help with?
