Hydrocodone can affect people differently. Because of that you need to talk to your dr before taking this or any med.

BL is right about discussing this with your doctor first, since Hydrocodone can affect each person differently. I will say though, according to Vicodin's drug monograph, there are no contraindications listed against patients who specifically have heart problems.

The only warning I found suggests that patients with a known hypersensitivity to Hydrocodone or Acetaminophen should not take it. It also doesn't recommend that any patients who are hypersensitive to other opioids take Hydrocodne either, since they may experience cross-sensitivity upon switching.

If this is your first time being prescribed something like Vicodin, I don't think your doctor would steer you in the wrong direction after a thorough diagnosis, but it never hurts to double check these things to be safe, as many doctors do make mistakes like the rest of us.
