The first day of your cycle would be considered the first day of actual bleeding and that would be full bleeding that requires a feminine hygiene product, not just a tiny bit of spotting. The length of your cycle would count from that first day, until the start of your next actual period.
The numbers of days can vary in different women, so it may be anywhere from 21 to 35 days and taking the hormonal BCP could have thrown yours off, so you may not actually be experiencing your regular cycle, at this time.
