Hello, Vanessa! How are you and your daughter?

No, she shouldn't use Gelmicin to try to treat herpes. One of it's ingredients in a steroid, Betamethasone and steroids can actually wake up the virus and cause, or worsen breakouts, as reported by the U.S. FDA.

To treat or prevent herpes outbreaks, she needs an antiviral medication. Her doctor can prescribe one for her in either a topical cream or to be taken orally. Their typical side effects are nausea, headache and stomach pain.

Is there anything else I can help with?
