By professional I'm G.P. one of my patients is having severe pain in the small jts of both hands since last 20 days. he was having viral fever before 25 days. fever is cured but pain persist. I have prescribed him pain killers, calcium tab, vit.B12 inj but there is no special relief. can I precrib him wysolone tab and with what doses. please ans.

From what I could gather, Wysolone (prednisolone) is indicated for use in treating inflammation/swelling (and therefore pain as well). But as far as dosing is concerned, this is probably best left up to you being his doctor and all.... I have seen general adult dosing guidelines on the internet stating that prednisolone is often prescribed at a range between 5 - 60mgs daily (to be divided in one to four doses), when taking it for inflammation specifically.
Has your patient also explored any natural alternatives (such as turmeric, ashwagandha, etc)?
