I AM A 69YR OLDER MAN WITH CHRONIC BACK PAIN. HAVE BEEN ON DILAUDID FOR 10 YRS NOW, BEING THE ONLY MED THAT WE FOUND THAT REALLY GAVE ME A LIFE. NOW FDA IS THROWING ME OUT WITH BABY WATER. JUST MOVED HERE TO LAS VEGAS, WHAT A WASTE. MOVING BACK TO DENVER CO WHERE YOU ARE TREATED LIKE A HUMAN AND THE DR'S WORK WITH YOU AS A PATIENT NOT A MORIAN. THIS FDA HAS TO GO. IT HARMS MORE PEOPLE THEN IT HELPS. SINCE WHEN DOES A PHARM. OVERRIDE A DR'S ADVICE??? COUNTRY IS GOING TO HELL!!!!

Hello, Willyboy! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain.

However, the most recent changes weren't made by the FDA, but by the DEA, which handles the regulation of controlled substances and they apply throughout the U.S., not just in Nevada.

The FDA classifies Dilaudid as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

What type of problem have you been having, will they just not prescribe the medication for you?
