Unable To Find A Pharmacy With Dilaudid In Stock!?

i have a prescription for dilaudid (generic) 8 mg for a stage 4 cancer victim. i have called about 25 drug stores & nobody has it in stock! it's friday evening & i don't know what else to do. this poor guy is going to suffer all weekend until i can find his dilaudid. can anyone advise me on what to do? HELP!!

Go to sunrise pharmacy in sun city and see Mr Patel he is a wonderful pharmacist, and accepts almost any insurance if not he has great rates, I don't know where you are coming from but come to sun city fla good luck

Straight from my doctors mouth to my ears... "I never have, nor will I ever prescribe dilaudid (or however u spell it) ..She said all it is, is pharmaceutical grade heroin, it is VERY addictive, and the withdrawals from it can kill a person. Not everyone, but the withdrawals can be deadly." Now with what I was told, fine, BUT I personally think if a terminally ill person can only find some sort of relief for what time they may have left in that particular medication then they should be given it. Unfortunately because some people abuse it most doctors (not all), but most will not prescribe it here in TX. Also unfortunately there are some pharmacies here that flat out refuse to fill it, I know a handful of people who whether it be because they are terminally ill, MS or in recovery from a very traumatic accident or major surgery who get prescriptions for it and find a very hard time getting it filled. (My brother in law was in a horrible ATV accident, had 1 leg amputated and the other was badly mangled, for the month he was in the hospital he was given that, once released he was cut off cold turkey and damn near died from the withdrawals) I truly feel bad for the people who need it, have a prescription for it and cannot get it.

Why would my doctor prescribe me dilaudid for pain management as opposed to other opioid-based pain medication? What are the dangers of this drug specifically long-term use? Thanks for your help.

I have seen a lot of posts regarding dillaudid. If you're having trouble in the Nevada area. I can help. I have been down this road several times. It saddens me when people really do need the help; especially the terminally ill. {edited for privacy}.

I'm sorry you have to go through that. But hey I went to this pharmacy in Tampa called Pronto Pharmacy and they're good on Busch Blvd. They have capsules, and I like them better. It instantly attacks the pain. And all the other medication I need to take my dilaudids are free. I do pay a pretty penny. They're about $8 a capsule. Call them at 813-443-0970. They're not open on the weekends but if you call em they will make accommodations for you. Hope this helps.

Pharmacy that usually fill my 8mg dilaidid said this is last month they will carry them. I know the hassle all too well of going up and down brevard county coast and still not find pharmacy that will fill. Now i will have to drive the extra distance to military base but they have never been out as of yet. Will this rediculous shortage of dilaidid ever be redolved? Why is the DEA allowed to decide what medication and how much of it we are allowed to take?

Did you ever find a pharmacy? I have a Rx for Dilaudid 4mg. I live in Henderson. My husband physically went to 12 pharmacies without success.

Kakin Hospital pharmacy's get first dibs if there is a shortage. So call local hospital pharmacy. Secondly call Doctor and tell him those are not available. He can change prescription to 4mg and take two. Not sure what other dosage available in. Either take two or cut them in half. You'll have to turn in the original prescription for other one. If that all fails take them to hospital. Because having stage 4 cancer and going through withdrawals! BAD! I hope this helps! Good Bless!

Hello,I'm sorry you are having trouble getting your meds.If you would go to a CVS and present the prescription it will be filled but if they don't have it talk to the Pharmacy Manager and they will.order for you.Its true it will take 2 days but CVS corporate policy is to fill the prescription.GOOD LUCK

I had Humana prescriptions insurance call companies for me and still can't find one in Vegas to fill script for Dilaudid 4mg. Just had two surgeries and in too much pain to drive all over Vegas looking for them. There has to be a better way! I'm not supposed to be walking yet. They bolted my foot back together. Back surgery in Dec too.

Trying to find Dilaudid 4 mg in Las Vegas myself. Only pain meds that don't use Povidone as a binder in them. Yet anyway. Allergic to Providone. I've called all the 24hr pharmacys. Even had Humana prescriptions insurance call a couple for me with no luck.

Call the manufacturer and see who they have shipped to. Or get in touch with customer service. Good luck

I have extreme sciatica with surgery pending and I got a prescription for dilaudid 8mg and I have been to and called so many pharmacies with no success of having it filled in the Los Angeles area, does anyone have an answer for me.

I live in tampa florida. I have recently been diagnosed with liver disease & cervical cancer.i have a percrispition for 2mg diaudid. I can't find a pharmacy anywhere that will fill it. I have been to at least 10 pharmacys with my script in hand. This is actually against medical advice seeing as i am on bed rest & not supposed to drive. Liver disease iss extrremly painful. My local walgreens pharmicist had me coming in the store every day for the last 2 weeks with my script. He finally told me yesterday he wont be getting any at all. This is very fustrating! My appointment is tues but really need the medication before then. Can anyone help? What is going on?!?
