I located the pill to be a 50 mg Ultram tablet (also known as Tramadol).

NOTE: the correct marking on this pill is MCNEIL 659 (not 650)

Tramadol is used for treating moderate to moderately severe pain. The drug has a wide range of applications, including treatment for restless leg syndrome, acid reflux, and fibermyosis.

On a more delicate note: I have seen constipation listed as a possible side-effect of Ultram. Since I began taking it in 1996, the opposite has been true. I can almost set my watch by it. 40 minutes after ingesting a 200mg dose, I am able to walk to the bathroom and become cleared out. Perhaps not true for everyone. My double-rate metabolism may play a part in that most efficient function.
