sir, i am 43 yr male,i am taking tryptomer 5mg everyday since 2 days, for post-shoulder arthoscopic pain, how long can i take

Are u sure its Tryptomer 5mg?or are you being given a generic version of amitriptyline Hcl? If its Tryptomer then its available only in 10,25,50 and 75mg only.
Since u have pain it is given for a short period of time.And,it has to be withdrawn by tapering down over no of days. Its anti-depressant and one can understand ur agony for undergoing the procedure. It makes a busy person a little depressed, presuming that u r busy! Your question is little ambiguous ! ....everyday since 2 days! I presume its more. Clarify?

Tryptomer contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, which is a tricyclic antidepressant and these sometimes help with certain types of nerve pain, but they are not actual analgesics and aren't going to relieve the pain from having a medical procedure or surgery.
