Need help affording 10 mg enalapril ( vasotec generic). My 20 yr old son was borm with hyperplastic left heart syndrome and has been on this med all his life we always got a year script from his cardiologist. He has no insurance and they won't write a new script until he's seen. I understand but with no insurance we can't afford the office visit.

Hi countrygyrl,

I'm very sorry to hear about your son's heart condition. The insurance situation may seem like a tough predicament as well, but there are some other ways to climb out of this loop hole.

This site actually offers a free RX savings card that can be used at over 60,000 pharmacies across the U.S (with discounts ranging anywhere from 15 to 75% off your prescription).

You can view & print it out on the following page: Rx Savings Card

One other option I'd like to suggest is looking into various types of Patient Assistance Programs. Some manufacturers such as "Biovail Pharmaceuticals (also known as Valeant)", offer big discounts on Enalapril/Vasotec as well as other forms of assistance to qualified low-income patients. They may have you fill out a special form that you have to mail/fax in for verification.

The company's contact info for inquiring about patient assistance is found on the link below if you need to reach them directly:

valeant.com/about/contact-us.aspx

I hope this info helps and wish you good luck in obtaining the right kind of care for your son!
