A friend of mine had a bit of a fit a while back and ended up in hospital - she had apparently been taking alcohol on top of an antidepressant, which caused the fit we are told. She has now been put on the above medication and I am off to spend a week with her next week but a mutual friend of ours has emailed me asking to see what I think. Apparently she gets glassy eyed from time to time and the friends who see her every day say she appears to not really be "there". She is no longer taking alcohol, but takes the pills daily. Could this be a side effect of the Tripaline and if so, surely they need to find another alternative for the poor girl ?

How long has she been on this medication and what dosage does she take?
Some side effects are normal and they may have her on a rather high dose to prevent more seizures and keep her off the alcohol. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and weight changes.
