Tri Sprintec Start

I used to take Sprintec and my period would start on Mondays. I was off of it a few months because my prescription ran out and it took me a while to get to the doctor. I want to stay with a Monday start so what day should I start back taking my pills?

You can start them on a Monday, as long as your doctor approves and it doesn't necessarily have to be when you are on your period. You can start them at any time during your cycle, but if you aren't on your period, it will take 7 days for them to reach their full level of efficacy in the body to prevent pregnancy. So, you'll need to use a back up form of protection, until the 8th day.

The FDA lists the most common side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, breakthrough bleeding, irritability and PMS like symptoms.
