Tri Previfem-do I Need To Use Protection

Hi. I have been on Tri-Previfem for about 8 months now. My last pill in the 2nd week fell down the drain. I called my Pharmacist and he told me to take the last active pill in the pack (which would have been the Saturday pill in the 3rd week) and then Sunday start my 3rd week of pills and when I got to the Saturday pill that I had already taken just start my placebo pills. My question is do I need to use protection??

There is a slight risk of pregnancy, but only for the later week of your period, where you actually miss a pill.

To prevent that, it would be best to use extra protection for the first 7 days of your new pack.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms.

Is there anything else I can help with?
