Trazodone Side Effects

I took Trazodone 50 for only 4 days. Doc and pharmacist said not to take it with my Trepaline. Stopped Trepaine cold turkey after 10 years.Trazodine was for pain relief for FM. Without Trepaline my muscle spasms went into overdrive. Worse pain than before! My whole pain protocol was stuffed. I had severe occipital headaches, giddy and drowsy and a panicked feeling, muscle pains, stomach aches, nausea, dry mouth, blurrex vision and diarrhea. I threw Trazodone in bin. Will never take it again!

Sherry, OMG, I can't believe your dr prescribed you Trazodone, something so contradictory to a medicine you've taken for how many years? Trepaine. I'm not familiar with Trepaine but I am with Trazodone. Then one or both told you to just stop with the Trepaine? That's crazy. I took Trazodone(for depression) for 15 years and knew I was ready to quit so I quit. Right. Hahahaha. The 1st night I was ok but the second night I had the most disturbing nightmares. It was unreal. On the second day after not taking the Trazodone I was literally hallucinating. I took the Trazodone.
My Dr was NOT happy with me but had a hard time believing the nightmares and hallucinations were from Trazodone withdrawal. Well, I sure as hell wouldn't make that stuff up! I did a taper over 2 months to come off the Trazodone. 2 months! This was YEARS ago & at that time there were no warnings about needing to taper when coming off them. I wonder if that's changed any. Hmmm. Good luck with your FM treatments. Sounds like your Dr is grasping to prescribe Trazodone off label for FM pain? Sorry to hear that. Good luck!
