Trazadone/melatonin

my daughter has been taking melatonin along with 150mg.,of trazadone for 2.5 years she has autism and has had violent episodes and complains of aches and pains etc...are these 2 drugs combined becoming dangerous now with the new mood swings,and how to ween from 50mg of melatonin and 150mg.of trazadone

I was told my U of M pych that long term use of Melatonin can cause moodiness. I have a son with autism and he is in Riperdal. Initially cured sleep problems but seems to not be working as effectively. U of M doctor said trezadone is safer than Clonidine but have not tried it yet. I was told to discontinue the Melatonin - not advisable for long term use.

It would be best not to change her medication routine, without consulting her physician, since only they can get to the root of what is causing her issues.

Are these the only medications she is currently taking?
